Frank Lancaster
Executive VP/CFO

Frank began his insurance career in 1999 working in a small insurance agency while developing his education. After graduating with an Accounting degree from the University of Utah and obtaining an MBA from the University of Colorado, he fully committed to the insurance industry by immersing himself in budgeting, mergers and acquisitions, operational workflows, and compliance.

Frank’s personal focus is centered on a patient wife and 3 great kids. His hobbies consist of anything outdoors, including snowboarding, volleyball, motorcycle riding, and the occasional camping trip. He is a little bit of a foodie and loves to find the local “hole in the wall” restaurant. Frank also enjoys attending a baseball game when he needs to relax.

Terry Buckner
President

Terry H. Buckner is the President and CEO of Buckner —a third generation, Utah family-owned business. Terry studied as a finance undergraduate student at Brigham Young University and earned his MBA from Utah State University in 1979. He completed his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1983. After assuming full command of Buckner in 1992, Terry made several critical strategic moves that allowed the company to experience explosive growth, expanding to more than 20 times the size than when he took the reins. Terry has served as the Chairman of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and served on various advisory boards for BYU, Utah State University, and Weber State University.

Terry and his wife, Lynne, are parents to seven children and 13 grandchildren. He enjoys mountain biking, golf, and skiing, as well as experiencing new foods, activities, and cultures as he travels with his family.

Lisa Levy
Director of Carrier Relations

Lisa has been in the insurance industry for over 40 years and joined Buckner in August 2016. She has held positions with various regional and national brokers and has also been a commercial lines underwriter with a large national insurer.

Lisa holds both a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. She is active with various insurance organizations.

Roger Armstrong

Roger Armstrong is a second-generation insurance professional with 18 years of experience. He studied Environmental Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara and later went on to do environmental consulting and City Planning.  Although he loved this area of study, he could not resist the insurance business which has been in his family for nearly 70 years.

Roger co-founded Armstrong Buckner Insurance Services where he enjoys helping people understand the ins and outs of the insurance industry: policy development, risk management, carrier relationships, claims supervision and overall business advising. His clients have become great friends, and many of which are industry leaders within the construction, manufacturing, technology, healthcare and service industries.

Roger can often be found on the tennis court or trying to keep current with some of his other favorite sports: golf, basketball, baseball, hockey, snow and waterskiing.  For the last 10 years, Roger has served as a Board of Director for The Priority Center helping them reach the mission of ending the cycle of generational trauma for individuals and families.  With three daughters and one son, he’s made it to every dance competition/recital and hockey game.

Brad Kupfer

Brad joined Buckner as Chief Sales Officer of Employee Benefits, bringing over 30 years of Employee Benefits experience. Having started his insurance career with carriers such as BCBS and other regional insurance agencies, Brad’s background allows him to effectively lead and consult professional employee benefit teams in the decision making process for their Employee Benefit Programs. Brad has significant experience with both self-funded and fully insured medical and dental plans, stop-loss contracts, and high deductible health plans with health savings accounts. In 2004, Brad was among the first brokers in Utah to write a high deductible health plan with a health savings account. Since then, he has continued to be instrumental in the development of a health care captive, which allows employers alternative options to commercial stop-loss companies. Brad strives to lead clients into finding alternative methods to mitigate costs with self-funded plans, using reference-based pricing models.

Brad is a self-proclaimed ‘amateur’ in his favorite hobbies, which include photography, biking, snowmobiling, skiing, golfing, and traveling. His love for the outdoors leaves him with a perpetual tan.

Lianna Kinard
Vice President of Marketing

Lianna joined Buckner in 2016 as Vice President of Marketing. In her role, she manages the firm’s brand communications and marketing strategy for five offices. Lianna earned a B.A. in Marketing from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in General Management from Harvard University.

Lianna is from Honolulu, Hawaii and was a member of the National Scholastic Surfing team in high school. She enjoys traveling with her children.

Jennifer Lude

Jennifer contributes almost 20 years of insurance knowledge to the Buckner Company which she joined in 2015. Jennifer specializes in our Private Client Group where she focuses on personal lines asset protection. She has been designated as a Certified Customer Service Representative and was awarded the 2013 & 2014 State & National Customer Service Representative of the Year through The National Alliance of Insurance & Education.

Jennifer is a proud mother of three children. As a family they love the outdoors and going on camping trips. Jennifer and her family value serving their community and do so through their breast cancer foundation called Christi Rack Pack. In her free time, will you often find Jennifer running, usually in a half marathon, which she has completed nearly 20 of, or just for some good old fun.

 

Sunni Jackson
Corporate Controller

Sunni began working in the insurance industry in 2005 and has been part of the Buckner team since 2013. She completed her formal education at the University of Utah and earned her CPA license shortly after. During her education, she had the opportunity to work with several independent insurance agencies and was happy to learn the unique processes of insurance accounting.

When Sunni is not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She likes to keep an active lifestyle and hopes that she can help others to be a little more happy each day.

Carrie began her insurance career in 2010 as a Personal Lines Underwriter. In 2013, Carrie joined Buckner’s Private Client Group where she specializes in solutions for high-net-worth individuals/families, analyzing risk exposures, and customizing risk management programs to protect personal assets. Carrie earned her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and has spent several years working in the commercial construction industry for general contractors and business owners on project management teams in UT, WY, CA and NV.

Carrie is an avid reader and loves to spend time with her family. She takes a lot of pride in her nephew, Jack, with whom she has helped raise. In her free time, you will often find her outdoors or traveling to Palm Springs where she loves to vacation.

Brad Larsen

Brad has been in the insurance industry since 2007, joining the Buckner team in 2014. He specializes in helping clients navigate the claims process, with a particular emphasis on coverage analysis. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in Political Science. He also holds Associate in Claims (AIC) and Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designations, as well as a Utah Property and Casualty license. In 2019, Brad became Director of Client Experience where he manages all aspects of the client experience.

Brad loves going to the beach and snorkeling. His favorite place to explore while snorkeling is Hanauma Bay in Hawaii. Brad also loves to read biographies and enjoys learning how things work.

Sierra Teger
Director of Human Resources

Sierra started with Buckner in 2015 as the Human Resources Director. She oversees the “people” side of the company, including Benefit Administration, Legal Compliance, Employee Relations, Payroll, Recruiting/Onboarding and the Wellness Program. Prior to joining Buckner, Sierra spent nearly three years managing the HR Department for Oakwood Homes.

Sierra graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources. She earned her Group Benefit Associate designation in 2017 and is a Society of Human Resources Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) . Sierra enjoys the outdoors and loves spending time with her family. After moving 15 times while growing up, she now calls Denver home.
